“Before working with Paula, I suffered immensely with anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and suicidal tendencies. I was lost, didn’t know who I was or what direction I was heading in. During our sessions she would always provide me with a safe space to express my emotions as well as being extremely gentle, amazing at listening and showing great patience.
During our time working together, I overcame my addictions, found out who I really was at my core and came to terms with a lot of my traumas and difficulties. If it wasn’t for Paula, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Paula is someone you can rely on and to this day, I still do. Thank you for everything Paula, I appreciate you and everything you’ve done for me.

This page is here to explain what counselling is, so that you can get an idea of what to expect from this kind of therapy.
Counselling is a therapeutic process that aims to help you tap into your intuition and wisdom to find resolutions to your current difficulties or challenges.
Sometimes, the challenges we experience in life can leave us with unresolved trauma and a sense of being lost or disconnected from ourselves and others. The intensity of the challenges can even leave us wondering if we have gone mad, and it can feel scary when life throws you a curve ball and you don't know what to do or where to turn.
When suffering this way, people often find it very helpful to talk to a counsellor about what they are going through. It is beneficial to feel understood and supported in such a way that you can find the strength and inner resources to overcome your difficulties.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM counselling?
Counselling helps you to make sense of yourself and your life so that you may understand what is best for you. It connects you with your authentic self and supports you in making the changes you need to make to live the life you deserve.
Counselling is effective because you are assisted in coming to your own conclusions rather than being told what to do. I provide a confidential, safe and nurturing environment in which you can talk through your concerns and experiences, free from judgment or agenda.
As we are all unique, the path to recovery and happiness is as varied and different as we are. For this reason, the key to our health and happiness lies within each of us, and a counsellor is there to guide you to your own personal keys.
What counselling can help with
Counselling can help with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, OCD, bereavement and loss, relationship problems, trauma, past or current abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, financial), substance misuse, mid-life crisis, anger, and many other distressing problems.
