I offer one-to-one and small-group cacao ceremonies. These can take place online or in person.
What is Cacao?
Cacao is a sacred drinking chocolate originating from the Amazon basin. It is a plant teacher that is heart-opening and facilitates connection to self and others.
What is special about cacao is that it’s minimally processed and known to be a superfood, meaning you are gaining the maximum nutritional and healing benefits without the calories and adulterants.
What are the benefits?
Cacao is psychoactive but not psychedelic, meaning that it can alter your consciousness and mood while you remain in control. When you drink cacao, you can gain different perspectives on things, go deeper into emotional processes and gain insights into any issues you need clarity or guidance with. Cacao can help you to see the best way forward. As it is heart-opening, it promotes self-compassion, empathy and a sense of well-being.
What happens during a ceremony?
The spirit of cacao, known as Mama Cacao, wants to be shared and to bring healing to all. There is no traditional way in which to conduct a cacao ceremony like in other plant medicine rituals. Mama Cacao guides the practitioners to facilitate their ceremonies in their unique style. Therefore, no two ceremonies will be the same.
During a ceremony, you may experience emotional release. This can take the form of crying, laughing, shaking or through physical expressions like dance or movement. This is all part of the process and nothing to worry about. Cacao works with the natural intelligence of your body to give you what you need at the time.
I will consult with you before a ceremony to learn of your intentions and then tailor an approach to best suit your requirements.
My Approach
I am very flexible in how I work with cacao and have integrated it into the other services I provide to utilise it more holistically and authentically.
Through the relationship I have developed with cacao, which is continually evolving, I very much take my guidance in how to work with people from the plant.
I use an ethically sourced organic Criollo variety of cacao, which has been grown and cultivated by the indigenous people of Peru. Cacao is processed by hand and in nature. This imbues it with the love and energy of the environment and the people who have a long-standing sacred relationship with (and reverence for) the plant.
If you are interested in working with cacao and would like to discuss arranging a ceremony, feel free to get in touch.
